Unki Mine help build new secondary school in Shurugwi

SHURUGWI- The construction of Rugare Secondary School in Ward 18 Shurugwi North under Tongogara Rural District Council has started after the local MP elect Robson Nyathi conducted a ground breaking ceremony on Friday last week at a colourful event held at the school.
Nyathi said that they have already started implementing some of the programmes promulgated in the Zanu PF manifesto under the education cluster for the development of the community.
“We are already way ahead in terms of development and catering for the welfare of the people, we want to be exemplary in the country as we have already begun implementing the manifesto as presented by our President Mnangagwa,” said Nyathi.
Ward 18 councillor elect Golden Kapeta said that they are targeting to finish the school block in the next 30 days.
“We already have 80 000 bricks and we are looking at a time frame of 30 days for the block to be fully operational, we have partnered Unki Mine to help us with some equipment while the community does the rest,” said Kapeta.
Unki Mine is providing all the building material and labour except for bricks.
Kapeta added that they are also in the process of partnering with Tongogara Community Ownership Trust for the construction of a Clinic and a primary school to be completed in 100 days.
Kapeta said that the children and adults in the Rugare area, Impali Farm travel over 15 km to the nearest Gwenhoro School, 25 km the nearest secondary school Ruchanyu Secondary School, 22 km to the nearest Ruchanyu clinic and the area is surrounded by mountains and rivers which makes it very difficult to travel during the rainy season.
