GWERU – Work on developing True Memorial Life, a state of the art and the first private cemetery in Gweru has started and the developers are on course to see the burial place commissioned next month in September.
The constructors are however, not developing the whole 26 hectares but will start with a fraction of the place.
The Mirror recently took a tour of the cemetery which was approved by Gweru City Council and noted that the place has been cleared and a security wall around the cemetery built with face bricks is already in place.
True Destination Investments managing director, Engineer Killen Ukama and site Engineer George Chikovore who accompanied The Mirror on the tour said construction work started two months ago.
The developers are also in the process of constructing toilets and the cemetery is quickly taking shape particularly after the clearing of the bush.
“We will start by developing just a small portion of the whole land so that we meet our target, the portion will accommodate more than 3 000 graves.
“Our target for commissioning is September and we expect exceptionally good work to be done in this cemetery. Flowers and lawn are already being planted and the construction of buildings will start soon,” said Ukama
True Memorial Life will have a life span of 68 years.
